Why I chose a WW2 German soldier game persona ... First, because I think my game name "LeadMeister" is really cool (kinda sounds German). Next, while playing Day of Defeat the Axis MG-42 and MG-34 were my weapons of choice. Finally, I believe that the majority of WWII German soldiers were not Nazis (which I loathe), and like us were a mix of conscripts and volunteers fighting for their country. |

My real name is "Steve". I'm retired and reside in Frisco, Texas with my beautiful wife "Essy". We met 31 years ago while standing in line at K-Mart in Battle Creek, Michigan. We were married 6 months later. I was in the Marine Corps, '63-'67, and served in Vietnam (Chu Lai & Da Nang). My computer gaming obsession started in 1981 with the Commodore VIC-20. But the bug really hit me big time in 1984 when I got my first real "PC", the IBM 5150. Microsoft's Flight Simulator 1.0 was the first game I loaded on it. Well, 30 years later and I'm still at it. I have kept every single game I've bought since 1981, including the original box/sleeves, floppy discs/CD/DVD and manuals. All in all I have nearly 500 games in my collection and plan on having them buried with me. I often look at them neatly organized in dedicated bookcases around the house and can still remember playing each and every one. I truly am a gaming freak and I have no intention of ever stopping this glorious madness. |

Splash Damage's "BRINK" is apparently suffering from the same server browser lag problem as HomeFront. The good news is that my fix for the HomeFront problem "My fix for the HomeFront server browser - IT WORKS!" is also working for BRINK.

THQ's HomeFront is currently my favorite multiplayer game. Unfortunately it does have quite a few bugs and annoyances. In an effort to help out the HomeFront player community I have posted user level fixes and tweaks on the Steam Users' HomeFront Forum. Here's a few: |

| These HomeFront servers work great (so far) for me don't exhibit problems such as disconnects or freezing. However, your results may differ because of connection and latency issues. There's probably many other great servers to play on that aren't included here. So, you need to build your own "best" server list by running in-game tests. One thing to consider when judging server quality is not to assume that just because it has a low latency number that it will be a smooth runner. Testing is the measure of quality, not just numbers. |

| For the past couple years my brother (game name - Georgie) and I (LeadMeister) have played a lot of Battlefront.com's Combat Mission: Barbarossa to Berlin (CMBB) together. We live in Arizona and Texas respectively and use the play by E-mail (PBEM) for our games. Here's a little movie I made of our last CMBB battle. He whipped my ass big time, and as a tribute to his gaming skills I posted this video on YouTube. |

Over the years I have used dozens, perhaps hundreds of freeware programs. Some have been excellent, others OK, and even a few were just plain terrible. Well, I took a peek at what freeware I'm currently using (and really like) and compiled a list of some of them.
